FASD in Alberta

In 2007, the Government of Alberta launched a cross-ministry initiative to develop a comprehensive coordinated response to FASD, resulting in the development and implementation of Alberta’s FASD 10-Year Strategic Plan. Over the past six years, the foundation has been laid for Alberta’s new model for FASD prevention and service delivery. Now in its seventh year, a system-wide FASD Service Network model has made Alberta a leader in the field, in Canada and internationally.

FASD-related initiatives across Alberta help build awareness, promote prevention, increase access to FASD assessment and diagnosis clinics, conduct new research, and provide support for individuals living with FASD and their caregivers.
